WIESBADEN, Germany -- Retired Gen. Gordon Sullivan, president of the Association of the United States Army, took time out of a busy schedule to meet with fellow Norwich University alumni and their families during his visit here to U.S. Army Europe's area of operation, Oct. 30.
Before becoming the 32nd Chief of Staff of the Army, Sullivan attended and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from Norwich University in 1959.
After commissioning as a second lieutenant he went on to a 36-year-long distinguished career in the Army. Since his retirement, Sullivan has remained an active member of AUSA and as the chairman of the Board of Trustees at Norwich University.
On the Friday before Halloween, AUSA members, Norwich alumni and their families gathered to support an AUSA retiree dinner held at the Wiesbaden Entertainment Center.
Norwich University, also known as 'The Military College of Vermont' is located in Northfield, Vermont, and has the distinction of being the oldest private military college in the United States. Since 1819, Norwich University has created leaders in business, government and in the military.
