242nd EOD welcomes new command sergeant major

FORT CARSON. Colo. - The 242nd Ordnance Battalion (EOD) welcomed its new senior enlisted Leader during a change of responsibility ceremony here October 23.

Command Sgt. Maj. Christopher A. Brown, outgoing command sergeant major of the 242nd EOD, relinquished his responsibilities of Battalion Command to Command Sgt. Maj. Scott M. Weimer.

Weimer previously served as the director of Joint EOD Operations Very Important Persons Protection Support Activity, in Washington.

Weimer had served multiple combat tours in Iraq and Afghanistan as well as operational deployments all over the world.

As command sergeant major for 242nd, Weimer serves as the Command's senior enlisted adviser on matters relating to operations, training, morale and welfare of the battalion's five Explosive Ordnance Disposal company and Headquarters and Headquarters Detachment.

In his closing remarks, Weimer said, "You are entitled to outstanding leadership, and you will receive that from me, all I ask of you is that you give 100 percent. I look forward to working with each of you and serving alongside you. My Door is always open, live our Motto and Earn This!"
