REDSTONE ARSENAL, Ala. (Oct. 6, 2015) -- Registration is ongoing for the U.S. Army Aviation and Missile Research, Development and Engineering Center, 2nd Annual Futures Brief to Industry. The Dec. 1, event allows AMRDEC to discuss the future of the defense industry as it applies to research, development and a changing financial environment.

"This event will provide those who want to partner with AMRDEC key insight into our priorities, challenges and needs," said James Lackey, AMRDEC Executive Director. "By attending, you will definitely have a better understanding of our next level of detail activities. We are going to do this every year as a recurring outreach and strategic communication center-wide effort."

AMRDEC is one of six U.S. Army Research, Development, and Engineering Command centers. AMRDEC's goal for this forum is to exchange information with stakeholders and other interested parties about AMRDEC's core technical competencies and future challenges within the industry. According to Lackey, this event is of strategic importance for AMRDEC.

"Our success as a research, development and engineering organization directly hinges upon building and sustaining key partnerships with industry, academia, and other government entities; partnerships to better align mutual goals and missions; partnerships to better focus our limited funding resources," Lackey said.

"Beyond the presentations themselves, an attendee will also be able to either build upon or create new networks of key points of contact inside our organization" Lackey said. "Business relationships are built upon engagement and personal contact. Through this networking, we want to know who you are, what value you can bring to the table and how we can realize mutual success through execution of our mission and your business. This event is tailor-made for promoting this kind of connection."

This open discussion forum will be held at the Sparkman Center's Bob Jones Auditorium and will include presentations by AMRDEC leaders and subject matter experts, a panel discussion, questions and answers and hardware displays. This is a no-fee event but pre-registration is required and must be completed by Nov. 19, before 4 p.m. Networking is expected and encouraged. The event is open to industry, academia, research, development and engineering centers and other government agencies. Those interested in attending the AMRDEC Futures Brief to Industry should visit the Redstone Conference website or email strategicplanning@amrdec.army.mil for questions or comments.
