USMA Choirs sing in New Jersey

AVALON, N.J. (October 1, 2015) - On the weekend of Sept. 12-13, the U.S. Military Academy at West Point Catholic Chapel Cadet Choir and the Protestant Cadet Chapel Choir traveled to Avalon, New Jersey, to sing in services at St. Brendan the Navigator Catholic Church and the First United Methodist Church.

This was the 33rd year the Catholic Choir traveled to Avalon and sang for the church community. The Protestant Choir has been involved with this outreach for 6 years.

The combined choirs sang at the September 12, 5 p.m. Mass at St. Brendan's to over 1500 parishioners. The program included the "Alma Mater," "The Corps," "Mansions of the Lord" and Wilhousky's arrangement of "The Battle Hymn of the Republic."

On September 13, the Protestant Choir sang to a packed house at First United Methodist Church, and the Catholic Choir sang at the September 13 morning Mass at St. Brendan's.
