The U.S. Army Tank Automotive Research, Development and Engineering Center (TARDEC) has been selected as the winner of the Secretary of the Army and Army Chief of Staff Award for Excellence in Safety for Fiscal Year 2014. In a recent announcement by the Department of the Army and U.S. Army Safety Office, TARDEC was awarded the Army Exceptional Safety Award for brigade and equivalent organizations.

"The achievements of these outstanding organizations demonstrate the dedication and commitment our Soldiers and Army Civilians have made to preserve readiness through safety, risk management and loss prevention," said Brig. Gen. Jeffrey A. Farnsworth, Director, Army Safety Center and Commanding General, U.S. Army Combat Readiness Center. "They are all role models for others to emulate, and I want to personally congratulate each of them."

This accomplishment reinforces the importance that all TARDEC leaders and supervisors place on proactive risk management and complete safety integration in all research and test facilities, laboratories and operations. TARDEC Leadership thanks the G7 Safety Office members and all organization leaders and associates for their hard work and attention to detail with accident prevention efforts and associated education and training completion.

This Safety Award is presented each fiscal year to the general officer/senior executive service level organization, brigade, garrison (or equivalent) and battalion with the most effective overall safety program. Congratulations TARDEC Associates for being Army Safe, Army Strong!
