CHARLOTTESVILLE, Virginia (Sept. 17, 2015)--General Daniel B. Allyn, 35th Vice-Chief of Staff of the Army delivered the Major General Hugh J. Clausen Lecture in Leadership today at The Judge Advocate General's Legal Center and School. This lecture series is named for General Clausen, the 31st the Judge Advocate General of the Army, who served the nation during the turbulent times of the Korean War, the Vietnam War, the hollow Army of the 70's and then the reemergence of the Army in the 1980's. The lecture was part of the World-wide Continuing Legal Education Course -- an annual course that gathers all of the leaders of the Army Judge Advocate General's Corps, from all components for education on leadership, the law, and strategic planning.

General Allyn concluded his remarks responding to a question about what gave him hope in this challenging world. General Allyn responded that it was leaders like those in the room, patriotically serving the nation that was the foundation of his hope for our Army and our Nation. Lieutenant General Flora D. Darpino, The Judge Advocate General thanked the VCSA for his comments and the inspiration and leadership he provided to those in attendance and Soldiers throughout the Army.
