WIESBADEN, Germany -- Nearly 60 members of the German-Israeli Association of Frankfurt, accompanied by the Israeli Defense Attaché to Germany, Israeli Navy Capt. Yoav Abergel, payed a visit to U.S. Army Europe's headquarters, here, Sept. 10.

The hugely successful event included tours of Lucius D. Clay Kaserne, Wiesbaden Army Air Field (with an aircraft static display), and of the Gen. John Shalikashvili Mission Command Center.

German Brig. Gen. Markus Laubenthal, chief of staff, along with Col. Bill Williams, deputy chief of staff, hosted and presented the group with a Strong Europe briefing. Discussion topics included Operation Atlantic Resolve, the crises in Ukraine and Syria as well as the present refugee influx into Europe.

The ensuing question and answer session included a dynamic dialogue on current political-military issues both in Europe, and the Middle East.

Unanimous group consensus was the need for continued relationships, cooperation and trust. The audience was pleased with the open discussions among U.S. Army Europe's staff, Laubenthal and Abergel.

U.S. Army Europe is actively engaged in public diplomacy outreach with various interest groups in order to increase transparency of U.S. Army Europe's mission, goals and objectives to ensuring a Strong Europe.
