Defense Secretary Robert Gates, Jan. 26, referring to the new Iraq strategy and Lt. Gen. David H. Petraeus, who was confirmed by the Senate to lead Multi-National Force-Iraq.
It's an issue that I've felt strongly about from the beginning - that the reconstruction and economic development part of this strategy of clear, hold and build are critically important to its long-term success. We will wait until General Petraeus arrives on the scene and get his estimation of what he needs.
