ANSBACH, Germany (Aug. 6, 2015) -- Outreach-KONTAKT Franken, U.S. Army Garrison Ansbach's German-American friendship club, recently visited Bamberg, Germany, to experience "Bamberg zaubert," a festival where street performances happen throughout the city recently.
Min Wendt, the club's American president, and her husband Stephen Wendt, one of the club's American chairpersons-at-large, arranged the event so members of the club could see magicians, musicians, stunt people, and other street performers as well as visit the historic city.
The Wendts lived in Bamberg before they moved to the USAG Ansbach area, and they provided a tour of a few of Bamberg's sights in between street performances.
Outreach-KONTAKT Franken is open to everyone, according to its social media page. The club's mission is to give "American Soldiers, Family members and civilians an opportunity to learn about Germany and understand its culture alongside Germans and citizens of other countries."
The group regularly meets the first Tuesday of the month at Adalbert-Pilipp-Str. 42, Ansbach and the third Tuesday of the month at Marktplatz 4, Herrieden.
