Visitor Control Center changes operating hours

By Fort Sill Public AffairsJuly 2, 2015

The Fort Sill Visitor Control Center will change hours of operation beginning July 8.

In keeping with Army guidelines, the center will close July 8 at 9 p.m. and will reopen July 9 at 5 a.m. The new, permanent hours will then be 5 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily.

The post is changing the VCC hours of operation to better align with other Army and Air Force installations that do not operate on a 24-hour schedule. This reduction will allow control center personnel to focus on the hours most used by people seeking legitimate access to post.

Visitors can still gain access to Fort Sill during the hours the VCC is closed.

If visitors need to enter Fort Sill between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m., they should go to Bentley Gate on Sheridan Road. Upon arrival, the gate guard, working with military police, will determine if the visitors have a valid requirement to enter on a case-by-case basis.
