JOINT BASE MYER - HENDERSON HALL, Va. (June 25, 2015) -- Past Army Chiefs of Staff were honored for their outstanding service to the nation during a special Twilight Tattoo called "Salute from the Chief," hosted by the current Army Chief of Staff, Gen. Raymond T. Odierno in Conmy Hall.

Former Chiefs of Staff of the Army present were Retired Generals Edward C. Vuono, Gordon R. Sullivan, Eric K. Shinseki, Peter Schoomaker, and George W. Casey, along with Gen. Martin E. Dempsey, current Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.

"Salute from the Chief" is a slightly modified production of the U.S. Army Military District of Washington's Twilight Tattoo. Twilight Tattoos are hour-long, live-action military pageants performed by Soldiers from the 3rd U.S. Infantry Regiment (The Old Guard) and the U.S. Army Band "Pershing's Own."

Earlier in the day, Odierno and the past chiefs laid a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknowns at Arlington National Cemetery, recognizing the sacrifices America's military members have given on the altar of freedom.

Twilight Tattoo's are normally held at 7 p.m., each Wednesday starting April 29 through Aug. 19, on Joint Base Myer-Henderson Hall, Virginia. For more information and group reservations, contact the U.S. Army Military District of Washington at (202) 685-2888, or visit our website at www.twilight.mdw.army.mil.
