FORT SILL, Okla. (June 18, 2015) -- Armed Forces Voters Registration Week is June 26 through July 5.
Unit voting assistance officers (UVAO) will contact Soldiers and their families to ensure all who are eligible may register to vote.
The 2015 federal elections will have a major impact on the federal government. There are 36 Senate seats and all 435 House of Representatives voting seats up for election this year.
At the state level, 38 governor races as well as many state offices and ballot measures will be decided. Counties and cities will have offices and measures on the ballot as well.
As a service or family member, to vote in your home district, you must be registered to vote in there and request an absentee ballot.
To register and request an absentee ballot, fill out a Federal Post Card Application (FPCA), Standard Form 76. The Federal Voting Assistance Program (FVAP) website, www.fvap.gov, contains an online assistant to fill out the application card.
To find the assistant, click on Voter Registration and Ballots under the Military Voter tab in the menu bar. Once there, select your state and you will be directed to your state's page with all the information you need on how to fill out the form and submit it.
For questions concerning this form, contact unit UVAOs. Local election officials will process FPCAs to determine if jurisdiction's residency requirements are met. If your application is denied, the local election official will contact you to state the reason why it was denied.
