ANSBACH, Germany (June 2, 2015) -- June 4 in Germany, known as Fronleichnam ("Corpus Christi" or Feast of the Body of Christ), is an official holiday in several parts of Germany including Bavaria, and several services at U.S. Army Garrison Ansbach will close or otherwise alter their services and schedules.
The holiday will affect the following services:
• Banking: The Community Bank locations at USAG Ansbach will close Thursday June 4. Service will resume Friday June 5.
• Directorate of Public Works: The Directorate of Public Works at Katterbach Kaserne and Storck Barracks will be closed Thursday June 4 and Friday June 5. For any DPW-related emergencies, call 09802-83-115 or DSN 467-2115. To learn more, visit www.ansbach.army.mil/DirectoryD.html#DPW.
• Fire department: Emergency services will be operational only. The fire inspection office and the fire extinguisher exchange will both be closed Thursday June 4. The fire inspection office will be closed Friday June 5. For emergencies, visit www.ansbach.army.mil/EmergencyNumbers.html.
• Shuttle services: Shuttles will not run Thursday June 4 and Friday June 5. Shuttle services will resume Monday June 8. For normal operating times for the shuttles, visit www.ansbach.army.mil/documents/ShuttleSchedules.pdf.
This is not necessarily a comprehensive list, and we will update the list as notices arrive.
Friday, June 5, is also the regular, weekly training day for USAG Ansbach. Several front-door services will be available only after 1 p.m.
