Army NATO spouse named Adjutant General's Corps Spouse of the Year

The Esther De Berdt Reed awarded is awarded annually by the Adjutant General's Corps Regimental Association to give special recognition to spouses of AG Corps members for contributions of outstanding significance to the Army, AG Corps or service to Soldiers. The 2014-15 award was presented to Mrs. Misty Shehan, a United States Army NATO Brigade spouse.

Shehan was formally honored with the medal during an awards ceremony at the Adjutant General's Corps' 2015 Regimental Ball in Columbia, S.C, May 29. She is married to Army Sgt. William Shehan who is assigned to Headquarters and Headquarters Company, Allied Forces South Battalion, USANATO Brigade.

Shehan, a military spouse of three years, was recognized for volunteerism and selfless service in support of the military and civilian community assigned to Naval Support Activity - Naples, Italy. In addition to hours of voluntary service to the community, Shehan serves as the president of Naples Overseas Support Club, a nonprofit command-recognized charitable and social organization with over 120 members. The organization works for the benefit of retired and active service members.
