Welcome to U.S. Army Garrison - Kwajalein Atoll's official website. U.S. Army Garrison-Kwajalein Atoll, or USAG-KA, is home to the Ronald Reagan Ballistic Missile Defense Test Site. The USAG-KA Commander is responsible for Kwajalein and Roi-Namur's more than 1,250 residents, which are comprised of military personnel, Army civilians, contractor employees, and family members. The use of the Kwajalein Atoll as a U.S. military facility is made possible through a Compact of Free Association with the Republic of the Marshall Islands (RMI).
USAG-KA is truly a small town which includes all the necessities for its employees and family members, such as medical and dental care, religious services, K-12 schools, grocery store, AAFES, housing, recreational activities, dining services, newspaper, AFN radio and TV, as well as air and sea transportation.
You must be in contact with your on-island sponsor who will provide all necessary information to you and your family regarding transportation to Kwajalein, housing, schools, etc. Your sponsor will provide you with the Kwajalein Welcome Brochure which details what is required for your PCS, some tips for island living, available services, and MWR activities.
Kwajalein is a great place to live and work, but it is a geographically isolated location with limitations.
