FORT HOOD, Texas -- Senior leaders from U.S. Army Sustainment Command visited the 407th Army Field Support Brigade during a trip to Fort Hood, Texas, May 17.

Maj. Gen. Kevin O'Connell, commanding general, and Command Sgt. Maj. Anthony Bryant, command sergeant major, both of ASC, visited Fort Hood senior leaders, Maj. Gen. Michael Bills, commanding general, 1st Cavalry Division, and Brig. Gen. Tim Lai (British Army), deputy commanding general, III Corps and Fort Hood.

Gladys Yoshinaka, Transportation Division chief, Logistics Readiness Center -- Fort Hood, explained to O'Connell the process of moving household goods for incoming and outgoing Soldiers.

Funding challenges were also discussed with the recent Army approval for the special storage of household goods for operational deployments in excess of 90 consecutive days.

Yoshinaka underscored the Transportation Division mission and vision for the future.

"We have an aging workforce and constrained resources," she said. "We face the challenge of ensuring we are taking care of our employees as well as continuing to provide the service that our customers deserve."
