Memorial Day is a time of reflection, to remember and pay tribute to those brave men and women who gave their full and final measure in service to this great Nation. This Memorial Day as we honor our fallen comrades, we also give thanks to all Soldiers past and present for their sacrifices and service.

Memorial Day weekend also is the start of the "101 Critical Days of Summer," which runs from Memorial Day to Labor Day. It is also a time when many people tum their attention to travel and engage in a wide range of outdoor activities due to the increased daylight hours and warmer temperatures. While you enjoy the activities that are a part of summer, we want you to do so safely.

The US Army Combat Readiness Center Spring/Summer Safety campaign focuses on providing Soldiers, Civilians, and their Families with information they need to be safe this summer. As this year's Summer Safety campaign gets into full swing this Memorial Day weekend, we challenge each of you to use risk management and safety tools to maintain safety awareness and minimize risk. This year's campaign offers products and information on a wide variety of topics: boating and watercraft safety, heat injury prevention, motorcycle safety awareness, DUI and distracted driving, plus many more. There is no better time than now to focus all our efforts on safety, so take advantage of all the tools available at https://safety.army.mil to ensure we all stay out of harm's way.

My sincerest thanks to each and every one of you for all your efforts to keep the Army Family ready and resilient. Have a great holiday weekend. Army Safe is Army Strong.

Serving to Heal...Honored to Serve!
