SAN ANTONIO, TX -- Several Army Medicine employees and teams were recognized by the Alamo Federal Executive Board recently for their accomplishments and achievements during the 2015 Federal Recognition Awards ceremony held at the Schertz Civic Center in Schertz, Texas.

The Federal Recognition Awards Program is recognized as one of the most prestigious and coveted forms of non-monetary recognition available to civilian and military employees of the U.S. Government in the San Antonio metropolitan area.

Presenting the awards on May 5, was Mr. John W. "Bill" Snodgrass, Executive Director, HQ, Air Force Personnel Center, JBSA Randolph. Mr. Snodgrass commented, "Today marks a celebration of excellence, for today we acknowledge the outstanding accomplishments of San Antonio's Federal employees and honor the best of the best."

He added, "These honorees were chosen through a competitive process that began with 116 total nomination packages from 30 San Antonio area Federal agencies. I welcome each participant with the hope that we will continue to build upon our partnerships and continue our individual and collective quests for excellence."

2015 Winners from Army Medicine were:

Finalist - Category 1(Administrative Support) -- Ms. Jonelle Joiner, Brooke Army Medical Center

Finalist - Category 3 (Law Enforcement) -- Ms. Cathleen Salas, US Army Medical Command

Finalist -- Category 3 (Law Enforcement) -- Officer Israel Herrera, Brooke Army Medical Center / Provost Marshal Office

Honorable Mention (Individual) -- Mr. Anthony Hopkins (Brooke Army Medical Center), Ms. Dawn Keeler (Southern Regional Medical Command), Mr. Robert Skelton (Brooke Army Medical Center) and Ms. Mary Ellen Stevens (US Army Medical Command).

Honorable Mention (Teams) -- Army Medicine Workforce 2020 Project (US Army Medical Command); Medical Affirmative Claims Team (Brooke Army Medical Center); Medical Command Resource Manager's Training (US Army Medical Command); Supply Chain Management, Logistics Division (Brooke Army Medical Center); Team Medical Expense and Reporting System (US Army Medical Command).

Outstanding employees may be nominated for consideration in one of nine categories; Administrative Support, Specialist, Law Enforcement, Professional, Customer Service, Military or Civilian Deployed, Supervisor, Teamwork (Small Team) (10 members or less), and Teamwork (Large Team) (11 or more members).

The Alamo Federal Executive Board is made up of approximately 86 Federal agencies across the San Antonio and Austin area, totaling more than 90,000 federal employees. Federal Executive Boards have 3 Lines of Business (LOBs) common to all: Emergency Preparedness, Security and Employee Safety; Workforce Development and Support; and Intergovernmental and Community Activities.
