FORT BRAGG, N.C. - Soldiers of Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 1st Sustainment Command (Theater), welcomed the new command team and bid farewell to the outgoing leadership May 1, 2015, at Fort Bragg, N.C.

Capt. Yikalo M. Gebrehiwet, a native of Tampa Bay, Florida, and 1st Sgt. Eduardo I. Carranza, a native of Waterbury, Connecticut, took charge as the new leaders of HHC while the outgoing leadership Capt. Patrick A. Touchard and 1st Sgt. Ryan M. Donnelly, both natives of Slidell, Louisiana, said their final goodbyes during a change of command and change of responsibility ceremony.

The change of command and responsibility ceremonies are rich in time-honored military traditions where new leadership takes over command responsibilities from the outgoing leadership.

"Serving as the 1st TSC HHC first sergeant, which is the Army's largest headquarters company with more than 560 Soldiers, has been a great honor and privilege," said Donnelly.

Donnelly will continue on to the Non-commissioned officer Academy on Fort Bragg, while Touchard will move over to the 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division.

Gebrehiwet, incoming commander, comes from the plans and operations section of the 1st TSC headquarters.

"I'm honored to be the 1st TSC HHC commander," said Grebehiwet. "I get to work with some of the greatest Sustainers in the United States Army."

Incoming first sergeant, Caranza, served as the water section noncommissioned officer in charge for the 1st TSC.
