WASHINGTON -- The Army's 31st edition of its annual Army Ten-Miler (ATM) race is scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 11, in the nation's capital. Hosted by the U.S. Army Military District of Washington, ATM is the third largest 10-mile race in the world and attracts 35,000 military and civilian runners from around the globe.

Priority registration opens Tuesday, May 5, at 6:30 a.m. (EDT) for U.S. service members and runners who have participated seven or more times, and general registration opens Tuesday, May 19, at 6:30 a.m. (EDT). Register online at www.armytenmiler.com. Registration is on a first-come, first-serve basis and the race entry fee is $70. All proceeds benefit Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation programs for Soldiers and Solider Families.

"The Army Ten-Miler is the spirit of sport and the spirit of a nation," said Race Director Jim Vandak. "Race officials are working hard to ensure the ATM 'Tradition of Excellence' continues in 2015," Vandak added.

Race weekend activities include the ATM Expo at the D.C. Armory, live music, youth activities, and the popular Hooah Tent Zone. The expo is open to runners and the general public Friday, Oct. 9 and Saturday, Oct. 10, from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. The Hooah Tent Zone is open race day to participating runners and will feature live music, youth activities, interactive displays and exhibits by Army installations from around the world.
