FORT BENNING, Ga., (April 22, 2015) --
So much is happening this week in sports, so here's a quick two-minute recap.
Peterson reinstated
Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson was reinstated April 17 after spending all but one game last season on the commissioner's exempt list.
Peterson was placed on the exempt list last year following child abuse charges. Peterson pleaded no contest to misdemeanor reckless assault Nov. 4. The NFL suspended him for the rest of the season Nov. 18.
Much is being made about Peterson not attending off-season workouts, which began April 20, but he routinely doesn't attend these workouts and doesn't have any bonuses tied to the workouts.
Peterson's agent, Ben Dogra, has said he will not play for the Vikings this year, but he is still under contract for three more years - we'll see who wins this battle of wills.
Red's coach goes ballistic
Cincinnati Reds manager Bryan Price obviously has no love for the press after going on a five-and-a-half minute rant April 20 focused on recently published roster information.
Price lashed out in front of a group of 10 media members, reportedly using the F-word 77 times and 10 more variants of other vulgarities.
Price was upset about a newspaper report that All-Star catcher Devin Mesoraco, out last week with a left hip injury, was unavailable April 19 as a pinch hitter in the last of a three-game series against the Cardinals.
He was also upset about a report that Reds catcher Kyle Skipworth was being sent down to the minors before the team was able to notify Skipworth.
Welcome to the 24-hour news cycle coach Price.
