Name:

Phylip-Michael Agee

Organization where you work:

Systems Sustainment Management Division (SSMD), Logistics Services Branch

Years of service at AMCOM:

2.5 years

Before working at AMCOM, where did you work?

I was a DA Intern at Fort Lee, VA.

What is your job?

I am a Secondary Item Manager providing support for the Integrated Field of Test Equipment (IFTE) V5. The item managers within SSMD are always there to help one another. My job requires me to analyze historical quantitative data and develop strategic material handling plans that are economically sound and in the interest of the Warfighter. I am also the lead for my organization on the Integration and Reconciliation Review team which provides sales and operations planning data to the director of PEO Missiles & Space Directorate.

What do you like most about your job?

My job gives me fulfillment in knowing that I am contributing to the fight. I am able to exude my patriotism on a daily basis and I feel that what I do is meaningful in so many ways.

Did you serve in the military? If yes, for how long and what did you do?

No, I did not serve. However, I am a military brat!

What are you usually doing when you're not at work?

When I am not at work I am usually with my wonderful girlfriend trying to figure out what to eat. We are always eating!

If you could speak directly to the Soldier you support, what would you say?

Sir or Ma'am, I am always here for you! If there is anything that you need, please know that I will assist you in every way possible. Thank you for all that you do!

What would people be most surprised to learn about you?

I was afforded the opportunity to work with Tyler Perry in his film "Meet the Browns."

Who are your heroes or who has inspired you? Why?

My heroes are my mother and my grandfather, both of whom have given more than 25 years of military service and tirelessly do the Lord's work. I admire them because they brought me up to know that by keeping God first, this wonderful journey we call life will be abundant in joy and happiness. My grandfather is someone that you could say wasn't supposed to be a success story, but he beat all the odds and instilled in his children and grandchildren this well-known secret: I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me: Philippians 4:13. This simple formula has always worked for both of my heroes. As I watch them overcome their challenges, I am constantly inspired to use their same guiding principles.

When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?

When I was growing up I just knew that I was going to be the next Denzel! Acting was my first love!

What AMCOM means to me:

What AMCOM means to me is similar to what a family means to an orphan!
