ABERDEEN PROVING GROUND, Md. (April 3, 2015) -- The U.S. Army is holding a tactical network industry feedback forum at Aberdeen Proving Ground, Md. on April 21, to assist industry partners in identifying and aligning their efforts with Army priorities.

Designed to provide industry a status update on the Army's tactical network modernization plans, the forum will lay out modernization efforts, address industry feedback and seek input on acquisition improvements and opportunities within the tactical network portfolio.

"The network is enabling connectivity to our Soldiers today in multiple overseas operations, but we can't afford to fall behind in advancing capabilities to address future challenges," said Maj. Gen. Daniel P. Hughes, program executive officer for Command, Control and Communications-Tactical. "As we continue to modernize and simplify the tactical network, we must continue to work closely with our industry partners and leverage their innovation and expertise. This event is a key step in that effort."

The forum, prompted by industry feedback, will serve as the kickoff for a series of regularly scheduled meetings hosted by the Army acquisition community and intended to enhance communications between the government and industry. The forum includes two panels, which will provide industry representatives with the status of the Army's Program Executive Office for Command, Control and Communication-Tactical (PEO C3T) programs and technology roadmap, as well as the opportunity to request updates on specific procurements through a question-and-answer format.

Leadership from the Assistant Secretary of the Army for Acquisition, Logistics, and Technology (ASA(ALT)), PEO C3T, Army Contracting Command, and the Science and Technology community will be present and available throughout the forum for questions and answers.

An official notice was posted on March 23 to the Federal Business Opportunities website (www.fbo.gov) with registration instructions, which must be completed no later than April 8. Due to the size of the venue, registration is limited. While priority registration will be given to industry partners, the forum is also open to government employees and organizations that support network modernization.
