Education and career fair do's and don'ts:

Do:

Your homework prior to the event and research companies you would like to speak with.

Dress in a professional manner as if you were going to a job interview.

Have tailored versions of your resume that match job openings you have researched.

Have a professional introduction rehearsed and ready to go.

Take advantage of the event to expand your network.

Leave a good impression with company recruiters/representatives.

Don't:

Be unprepared.

Ask companies "what do you do?"

Speak in military jargon. Highlight key skills that make you stand out.

Approach your companies of choice right away. Stop by tables that are less desirable first in order to get the jitters out.
