On Thursday, March, 12, 2015, the Soldiers and Civilians employed at the U.S. Army Schofield Barracks Health Clinic - Schofield Barracks (USAHC-SB) gathered at the Schofiled Barracks Post Chapel for their monthly townhall meeting.
This month, Lt. Col. Nicole Powell-Dunford, the Deputy Chief of Clinical Services, discussed the concept of a High Reliability Organization and how the clinic could benefit from adopting the High Reliability Organization mindset.
The Army Surgeon General, Lt. Gen. Patricia Horoho has put great emphasis on having a medical community that fosters zero preventable harm to medical patients.
In order to create medical facilities that meet the standard of zero preventable patient harm, patient safety must be at the forefront of every task completed by any employee of a healthcare organization.
During the townhall, employees discussed ways the clinic could implement procedures or improve existing procedures to ensure the clinic remains a safe and reliable healthcare facility.
