The 411th Contracting Support Brigade is looking for experienced people to fill contracting and other civil service positions throughout Korea.

According to Michael Cooper, the brigade's principal deputy, the unit is looking for supervisory contract specialists, procurement analysts, contract specialists and quality assurance specialists in the pay grades of NH-IIs through NH-IVs (GS-11 to GS-15 equivalents).

The 411th CSB, headquartered at Yongsan, Korea, is responsible for providing comprehensive contracting support to all U.S. Forces stationed in Korea, including four regional contracting offices, he said.

"We are comprised of nearly 150 U.S. and Korean National civilians and more than 50 U.S. military personnel," he added.

Cooper said the 411th CSB directly supports U.S. Forces Korea--a four-star command, the 8th U.S. Army, Installation Management Command and 7th Air Force.

"Our staff provides a variety of contracting support including services, construction and supplies," he explained. "Some of the more complex contracts include contractor-provided support services to the Korea Battle Simulation Center, Korea-wide Security Guard Services and command, control, communications and computers operations and maintenance services supporting the joint USFK staffs.

The 411th CSB also manages a "very robust construction program" supporting IMCOM and Air Force programs in addition to the US-Republic of Korea Logistics Cost Sharing Program, he said. The opportunities for professional growth and career development are exceptional, he added.

"If you are looking to expand your professional and personal horizons, consider an assignment with the 411th CSB in South Korea," Cooper said.

According to Cooper, stateside-hired employees enjoy several benefits:

• A tax-free Living Quarter Allowance covering the majority of rent and utilities. Cooper said the quality of housing is very high in most locations.

• A tax-free Post Allowance that helps to defray currency fluctuations.

• An opportunity to live and work in a multi-cultural environment. Crime is low and the Korean people are very hospitable, he added.

• A departure point for travel into greater Asia--Japan, China, Australia and Southeast Asian countries.

• High quality Department of Defense-sponsored schools and community activities similar to those found stateside.
