FORT HOOD, Texas -- Soldiers from the U.S. Army Sustainment Command -- Army Reserve Element, Fort Hood Detachment, conducted their annual weapons qualification at the Blackgap M16 Range, here, Feb. 7.
Fifteen Soldiers conducted zero and weapons qualifications on the M16 range. Non-commissioned officers from the 4th Sustainment Command (Expeditionary) conducted range familiarization, fire and safety training prior to the qualification event.
"It is always a great day to see Warriors actively engaged in performing their Individual Soldier Tasks in qualifying with their assigned weapon," said Col. Robert Hildebrandt, detachment commander.
Hildebrandt escorted Brig. Gen. Phillip Jolly, commander, Army Reserve Sustainment Command, Birmingham, Alabama, who was on hand to observe range operations. Jolly also conducted a town hall meeting with the detachment, outlining his philosophy, vision and expressing the priorities and way ahead for the Army Reserve, followed by a question and answer session.
