PICATINNY ARSENAL, N.J. (February 13, 2015)--3-D printed heads, all produced by using structured light scanning technology, were some of the 3-D examples shown Feb. 11 during Picatinny's "Lunch and Learn" with the Organization for Innovation Strategy, an innovation group at the U.S. Army Armament Research, Development and Engineering Center.

"Lunch and Learn" events focus on introducing the ARDEC workforce to Picatinny's innovative facilities and capabilities as well as showcase the arsenal's 3-D printing and scanning abilities. The events are held every Wednesday from Feb. 4 to Feb. 18, and consist of a tour as well as interactive discussions. Facilities that participants toured include the Innovation Headquarters, Gaming Innovation Lab and the Innovation Materials Hub.

The Armament Research, Development and Engineering Center is part of the U.S. Army Research, Development and Engineering Command, which has the mission to develop technology and engineering solutions for America's Soldiers.

RDECOM is a major subordinate command of the U.S. Army Materiel Command. AMC is the Army's premier provider of materiel readiness--technology, acquisition support, materiel development, logistics power projection and sustainment--to the total force, across the spectrum of joint military operations. If a Soldier shoots it, drives it, flies it, wears it, eats it or communicates with it, AMC provides it.
