Eight Oregon National Guard Soldiers and their platoon leader repaired 1,600 optical devices in conjunction with their two-week annual training, Jan. 25 -- Feb. 7, at the Logistics Readiness Center located at West Point, New York.

The repairs by the Soldiers from the 3670th Component Repair Company, 821st Troop Command from Clackamas -- located near Portland -- included 800 night vision devices of various models used in patrolling by the Cadets during the summer. All devices were brought up to fully mission capable status.

When not repairing, the Oregon Soldiers performed their annual training at West Point. Capt. Maribel Ortega is the company commander.

"She and her staff should be credited with the amazing technical skills and professionalism they

displayed in conducting these repairs for us. It was a win-win," said Kathleen Silvia, West Point

LRC, Logistics Operations.
