Camp Bullis, Texas (Feb. 5, 2015) --Approximately 15 Reserve Soldiers from across the nation kicked off the 80th Training Command (TASS) annual Best Warrior Competition here today.
The three-day event includes an urban assault course, physical fitness, weapons handling, rifle and pistol marksmanship, drill and ceremony, land navigation, and first aid. The Soldiers will also take a written exam and report before a panel of sergeants major in full dress uniform to answer questions ranging from military knowledge to current events.
The 800th Logistics Support Brigade, an 80th subordinate command, is the hosting event, which identifies the best competitors in the lower enlisted and noncommissioned officer categories.
Competitors were selected from among more than 6,800 Reserve Soldiers assigned to the 800th LSB and the 80th TC's subordinate divisions, the 100th Training Division, the 102nd Training Division and the 94th Training Division.
The 80th TC and the 800th LSB will hold an award ceremony for the winners at the Camp Bullis post theater, Feb. 7, 2015.
Winners will advance to the United States Army Reserve Command Best Warrior Competition later this year. The winner of the USARC BWC will compete at the Department of the Army level.
