REDSTONE ARSENAL, Ala.--Army Contracting Command has a new, one-stop virtual service center for all information technology services provided by the command's chief information officer.

ACC launched the VSC on Jan. 20. In addition to being the single point of entry that will make it easy for customers to access support, Gino Magnifico, the ACC chief information officer, G-6, said his staff will use the site to help better understand what customers need from G-6.

"Many times our customers do not know whom to contact to access G-6 services," Magnifico said. "We have customers who drop by, phone in questions, leave sticky notes on desks, etc. This often results in forgotten requirements, unanswered calls and lost stickies. With the launch of VSC, customers will save valuable time and have the ability to request any G-6 service support with a single click, while G-6 will have a powerful tool to record and track requests as well as assign available and appropriate resources."

Some of the commonly used G6 services covered by the VSC include Web support, contract writing application support, mobile device support, hardware and software support, computer/desktop support, phone support, and printer support.

For ACC customers familiar with the Web Presence's Customer Request form, or "gold button", on SharePoint, the VSC is an expansion of that service and will help the G-6 capture usage metrics for improving support in the future, Magnifico said.

While many of the services themselves may work the same way they did before, Magnifico said this page will be the G-6's single point of entry, so customers should expect to visit the VSC page in order to receive a G-6 service.

More information about the VSC is available at https://acc.aep.army.mil/sites/VSC/default.aspx. Please note that this link is available by Common Access Card only and not to the general public.
