San Antonio -- Former Brooke Army Medical Center Commander Col. Kyle D. Campbell, Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives, received the American College of Healthcare Executives Senior-Level Healthcare Executive Regent's Award Jan. 9, 2015.
Col. Noel J. Cardenas, Commander, Reynolds Army Community Hospital, and ACHE's Regent for the Army, was on hand to present the award to Campbell. The Senior-Level Healthcare Executive Regent's Award recognizes ACHE members who are experienced in the field and have made significant contributions to the advancement of healthcare management excellence and the achievement of ACHE's goals.
Members are evaluated on several qualities and characteristics that are indicative of senior-level healthcare. Members must exude outstanding leadership ability; innovative and creative management; executive capability in developing their own organization and promoting its growth and stature in the community; contributions to the development of others in the healthcare profession; leadership in local, state or provincial hospital and health association activities; participation in civic/community activities and projects; participation in ACHE activities; and interest in assisting ACHE in achieving its objectives.
Campbell served as the Commander, Brooke Army Medical Center from 2013 to 2014. Prior to this, he served as the Chief of Staff, Southern Regional Medical Command.
Campbell is board certified in healthcare management as a FACHE, demonstrating a commitment to professional excellence. He is also a lifetime member of the Dedicated Unhesitating Service to Our Fighting Forces, also known as the DUSTOFF Association. Campbell started his career as an Army Nurse and subsequently went to rotary wing flight school to become a medical evacuation pilot.
Campbell is a graduate of the State University of New York at Binghamton and the resident Command and General Staff College. He has earned Master's Degrees in Administration from Central Michigan University, in Health Administration from Baylor University, and in National Resource Strategy from the Industrial College of the Armed Forces, Washington, D.C.
