Medical Department Activity-Japan (MEDDAC-J) hosted Brig. Gen. Patrick Sargent, Commanding General of Pacific Regional Medical Command (PRMC) and Command Sgt. Maj. Robert Luciano, PRMC Command Sgt. Maj., for a staff visit to Japan from Jan. 12-15, 2015

During the visit, Sargent met with key leaders in Army Medical Department (AMEDD)-Japan, United States (US) Forces Japan, US Army Japan, and Japan Self Defense Force.

These office calls allowed Sargent to recieve information first hand from the Soldiers, Family Members, and Japanese Allies on how he can best support their needs and requirements.

Sargent and Luciano also conducted a Town Hall dinner with AMEDD Japan leaders.

Sargent shared his command philosophy with the team, offered some professional development advice, and answered questions from the AMEDD community.

In addition to meeting with Key Leaders, he also visited medical facilities in Japan, to include the BG Sams Army Health Clinic, the Camp Zama Army Wellness Center, the 374th MED GRP Hospital in Yokota, Dental Activity Japan, and various other sites throughout Japan.

According to LTC Philip Ginder, "The visit was a great success and provided opportunity for MEDDAC-J and Key Leaders in Japan to become aware of Sargent's mission and vision for Army Medicine in the Pacific."
