Veterans honored in local parade

Head table guest, Linda Armstrong, president of the Women's Auxiliary for VFW Post 3650; Mayor Evelyn-Wynn Dixon, mayor of the City of Riverdale; Sen. Valencia Seay, state senator; and Sgt. 1st Class Ron Stubbs, commander, VFW Post 3650, give a standing ovation to veterans from various eras during the luncheon held after  the Veteran's Day parade on Nov. 8, 2008 in Riverdale, Ga.

Local marines pass out Toys for Tots information to parade watchers at the Veteran's Day parade held on Nov. 8, 2008 in Riverdale, Ga.  Toys for Tots, which began in 1947, is an initiative to "bring the joy of Christmas to America's needy children," according to the Web Site.

The Riverdale High School Air Force Junior ROTC class  march proudly down Highway 85 at the Veteran's Day parade held on Nov. 8, 2008 in Riverdale, Ga.  The band has participated in the parade for three consecutive years.
