FORT HUACHUCA, Ariz. -- Last week, Col. Ray Compton, commander, U.S. Army Electronic Proving Ground met with the cadre and cadets of the Army Junior Reserve Officers' Training Corps at Tombstone High School, in fabled Tombstone, Arizona. The Senior Army Instructor, retired Chief Warrant Officer 4 Thom Gross grew the school's JROTC program substantially since its creation only a few years ago at the high school. Compton, along with his noncommissioned officer, Sgt. 1st Class John P. Rivera Jr conducted an "OPD," or officer professional development session with the junior cadets and opened the conversation to answer any questions the cadets had. USAEPG is the Army's designated developmental tester for networking and communication system, located on nearby Fort Huachuca.
