JOINT BASE SAN ANTONIO-FORT SAM HOUSTON, Texas (July 5, 2018) -- In an effort to expand its outreach efforts to small businesses, officials from the Mission and Installation Contracting Command continue to conduct acquisition forecast forums at multiple locations throughout the nation.
Events are taking place on or near MICC contracting office locations and are intended to serve as another avenue for informing small-business representatives of projected contracting opportunities with the Army. Locations and dates of the acquisition forecast events vary.
Small business representatives may find helpful the Federal Business Opportunities website at www.fbo.gov for finding Army small business outreach events. In the search section, select Special Notice as your Type option. Any agency may be selected, but for the Mission and Installation Contracting Command, type in MICC and it should auto-populate as Department of the Army/Army Contracting Command, MICC. After selecting search, a number of special notices will appear. Look for those that state either acquisition forecast or open house. Open house acquisition forecasts provide an opportunity to learn about upcoming contract opportunities, meet one-on-one with contracting officials and network with other industry representatives for partnering opportunities.

The outreach event scheduled for Aug. 23 at Joint Base San Antonio-Fort Sam Houston, Texas, has been cancelled and will be rescheduled at a later date.
Some events require pre-registration prior to the date of the event. For those taking place on military installation, contact the event organizer listed in the FBO solicitation for additional information on accessing the installation. In fiscal 2017, the MICC awarded approximately $2.1 billion in contracts to small businesses to achieve all five of its socioeconomic goals for the third consecutive year. Continuous engagement with small-business representatives ensures MICC contracts are awarded in each of the following small business categories:
- Small disadvantaged business,
- Service-disabled veteran-owned small business,
- Woman-owned small business, and
- Historically underutilized business zone small business.
Headquartered at JBSA-Fort Sam Houston, MICC contracts are vital in feeding more than 200,000 Soldiers every day, providing many daily base operations support services at installations, preparing more than 100,000 conventional force members annually, training more than 500,000 students each year, and maintaining more than 14.4 million acres of land and 170,000 structures.
