Program Executive Officer of Program Executive Office Ammunition, Mr. James Shields, and Deputy Program Executive Officer, Brig. Gen. Patrick Burden, made a quick stop by the Rock Island Arsenal Joint Manufacturing and Technology Center Jan. 7 during a visit to the installation. During their visit, they received a tour from RIA-JMTC Commander, Col. David Luders and Deputy Commander, Mr. Rick Nesbitt.
During their tour, they visited the arsenal's recoil room where they viewed many recoil systems the arsenal has manufactured. They also walked through foundry operations, which is the last remaining foundry within the Department of Army. Stops were also made at the arsenal's plating, forge, and small arms departments, showcasing a small variety of the capabilities that RIA-JMTC has under one roof.
