DAVENPORT, Iowa -- The U.S. Army Sustainment Command hosted more than 60 Logistics Readiness Center directors and seven Army Field Support Brigade command teams from around the world at an information sharing symposium, here, Jan. 6-8.

Maj. Gen. Kevin O'Connell, ASC commanding general, welcomed the crowd, Jan. 6, sharing his enduring priorities: Sexual Harassment Assault Response Prevention; support deployed forces; provide globally responsive readiness; build and empower leaders; take care of people and families; and strengthen command climate.

"The LRCs are where the rubber meets the road for readiness at the installations," said O'Connell.

The three-day symposium's discussion focus was primarily resourcing the LRCs with funding, manpower, equipment and facilities. Discussion also included contract logistics and SHARP, safety and equal employment opportunity practices.

The week culminates for ASC, Jan. 9, when it farewells Command Sgt. Maj. James Spencer, senior enlisted adviser to the ASC CG, in a retirement ceremony.
