BLUE GRASS ARMY DEPOT, Ky. - Toxic chemical workers assigned to the Blue Grass Chemical Activity successfully overpacked a leaking M55 GB rocket, Oct. 28.

The overpacked container was moved to another igloo dedicated to the storage of overpacked GB agent munitions, Oct. 30. After three days of intensive monitoring, the event has been concluded. This dedicated-leaker igloo is monitored every working day.

To date, Blue Grass Chemical Activity toxic chemical workers and laboratory technicians have never detected an overpacked container leaking.

This leak and subsequent containerization and movement posed no danger or risk to the community. But BGCA notification protocol requires Madison County Emergency Management and the Commonwealth of Kentucky Emergency Management Agencies to be notified of every aspect of the operation, from the discovery of the leak through the event conclusion.
