USAG Ansbach observes Volkstrauertag with city of Ansbach

ANSBACH, Germany (Nov. 25, 2014) -- Col. Christopher M. Benson, commander of U.S. Army Garrison Ansbach, and members of the American Legion, Post 1982, participated in the Volkstrauertag in Ansbach Nov. 16.

The Volkstrauertag is similar to the U.S. Memorial Day, as victims of war, violence, deportation and terrorism of the past and present throughout the world are remembered. The commander and a delegation of Soldiers placed a wreath sponsored by the American Legion, Post 1982.
