Lessons learned forum reviews fiscal year activities

ABERDEEN PROVING GROUND, Md.-Directors and division chiefs from the Army Contracting Command-Aberdeen Proving Ground conducted a leadership forum here Nov. 5 and 6.

The forum is an annual event to review lessons learned from the previous fiscal year and discuss initiatives for the new fiscal year.

Bryon J. Young, ACC-APG executive director, kicked off the meeting with an overview of fiscal year 2014, including information on the customers supported and the number of actions and obligations performed.

"We closed out the year with $12.1 billion in obligations and 35,797 completed contracting actions," Young said. "A majority of our workload supports the materiel enterprise with 66 percent of our actions supporting the Army Materiel Command and the Assistant Secretary of the Army for Acquisition, Logistics and Technology."

Contracting division chiefs presented their division's accomplishments followed by their goals and objectives for fiscal year 2015. ACC-APG members discussed initiatives to improve contract management, milestone tracking, source selections and workforce development.
