As the nation's environmental engineer, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers manages one of the largest federal environmental missions: restoring degraded ecosystems; constructing sustainable facilities; regulating waterways; managing natural resources; and, cleaning up contaminated sites from past military activities. The Corps Environment highlights many of the environmental and sustainability efforts the Army Corps of Engineers is engaged in across the country.
Starting with the January issue, The Corps Environment is expanding to incorporate more articles about environmental and sustainability efforts to better tell the story across the entire Army, not just the Army Corps of Engineers. The magazine welcomes content from around the Army about any organization or installation efforts to preserve the environment, become more sustainable, reduce waste and energy consumption, protect wildlife habitat, meet Net Zero goals, etc.
The submission deadline for the January 2015 issue of The Corps Environment is Nov. 14. Email submissions or questions to the editor at julia.bobick@usace.army.mil.
The quarterly publication is only online; previous issues of The Corps Environment are online at www.usace.army.mil/Missions/Environmental.aspx.
