DRAWSKO POMORSKIE, Poland -- Soldiers with Company C, 2nd Battalion, 8th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division conducted tank gunnery at the Drawsko Pomorski Training Area, Poland, Oct. 20.

This is the first time a tank platoon from the U.S. Military has ever conducted tank gunnery in Poland.

The tank crews conducted day and night live fire training to enhance their skills as tank crew members. 2nd Bn., 8th Cav. Regt. plans to conduct additional tank gunnery training in the future with their Polish partners.

The 1st BCT Soldiers in Poland are participating in the U.S. Army Europe-led Atlantic Resolve, a multinational combined arms exercise involving the 1st BCT, 1st Cav Div., and host nations. The training missions take place across Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Poland to enhance multinational interoperability, strengthen relationships among allied militaries, contribute to regional stability and demonstrate US commitment to NATO.
