The 2014 Best Medic Competition, was a twofold event at Fort Bragg, this week.

One was conducted by the 82nd Airborne Division and the other was sponsored by Northern Regional Medical Command and hosted by the 44th Medical Brigade.

Held annually, the competition tests the tactical and technical proficiency of medics Armywide.

Medics show their mettle in events such as land navigation, marksmanship and tactical combat care evaluations.

From Tuesday's air assault obstacle course, to Wednesday's written exam, the 2014 Best Medic Competition showcases the proficiency of the Army medic.

Medics are trained to operate under stress in combat situations, in the air, on land and at sea. They are trained to meet the medical needs of Soldiers, and to never leave a fallen comrade behind.

Winners of the competitions will advance to represent the 82nd Abn. Div. and the NRMC in the U.S. Army's competition next month at Fort Sam Houston, Texas.
