Dr. Bruce Jones, injury epidemiologist at the Army Center for Health Promotion and Preventive Medicine, jumps with the Army Golden Knights skydiving team. Jones visited the team to discuss a study of a parachute ankle brace.

Jones is the 2008 recipient of the Joseph Lovell Award, given each year to an outstanding CHPPM employee.

As an Army officer, Jones created the Defense Medical Surveillance System. The system's goal is to document exposures and health outcomes throughout a service member's time in the military.

After retiring from the Army, he was hired to run CHPPM's injury prevention program. He documented the full impact of injuries on U.S. armed forces while he chaired the DoD Injury Surveillance and Prevention Work Group.
