OKINAWA, Japan (Sept. 9, 2014) -- The 10th Regional Support Group's Legal Assistance Office, station at Torii Station, on Okinawa, recently won the Chief of Staff Award for Excellence in Legal Assistance for the fiscal year 2013, in the small office category.

This is the sixth year in a row that Torii Station has won this prestigious award.

Rudolph Wartella, chief of the 10th RSG Legal Assistance Team, said winning such an award helps the clients be confident in knowing that they will receive superior legal assistance support.

"The award continues to motivate staff and Soldiers alike," said Wartella.

The 10th RSG Legal Assistance Office is a smaller legal office, said Wartella, which average about 10 to 15 clients per day. The legal assistance office is here to support the legal assistance needs of the Army community said Wartella.

"We provide walk-in service for powers of attorney, notaries, and affidavits. Clients needing to see a legal assistance attorney can do so within one to three days of their request."

The 10 RSG Legal Assistance Office has won this award 11 times within the last 12 years said Wartella.

"We do not know how many offices submitted applications, but are proud to have been chosen a winner with so many other outstanding offices around the world in our category."

Overall, Wartella concluded, the award reminds our office that we can and will deliver service that is "exceptional to our military community."
