ANSBACH, Germany (Sept. 2, 2014) -- Sixty-two soldiers from the Sanitätsakademie der Bundeswehr, or the Bundeswehr Medical Service Academy, from Munich visited U.S. Army Garrison Ansbach Aug. 18.

Members of the 5th Battalion, 158th Aviation Regiment (General Support), 12th Combat Aviation Brigade, taught the German Soldiers about medical evacuation procedures, pre- and post-deployment procedures, and the capabilities of the UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter.

The group also had lunch at the food court at Urlas Housing and had a bowling social at the Strike Zone bowling alley at Katterbach Kaserne.

U.S. Army Soldiers that participated included Soldiers the 12th Combat Aviation Brigade, the Better Opportunities for Single Soldiers program, the garrison chaplaincy and the Headquarters and Headquarters Detachment.

USAG Ansbach and Bundeswehr Medical Service Academy plan on further collaborations where U.S. Soldiers will visit the medical school first before the medical students return to Katterbach for more English-language immersion training.
