WIESBADEN, Germany (Aug. 25, 2014) -- Exercise Saber Junction, one of U.S. Army Europe's premier training events, is scheduled to take place from today through Sept. 11, at several locations throughout Europe.

The exercise will include participation from 16 different nations, more than 5,800 personnel, and is designed to prepare U.S. and multinational Soldiers for decisive and sustainable land operations.

Saber Junction will feature a number of dynamic events designed to challenge the participants including airborne operations, conventional warfare scenarios as well stability and defensive operations, and support of civil authorities operations.

Multinational partners participating in this exercise include the following NATO allies: Bulgaria, Canada, Croatia, Czech Republic, Estonia, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, Slovenia, United Kingdom, and the United States; and the following NATO Partnership for Peace nations: Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, and Sweden.

This exercise demonstrates U.S. Army Europe's commitment to the collective security of the nation's NATO allies, and support for the United States' partners in Europe.
