PICATINNY ARSENAL, N.J. (August 18, 2014)--Lt. Gen. Patricia McQuistion, Deputy Commanding General of the U.S. Army Materiel Command (AMC), toured Picatinny Arsenal on Aug. 14 to meet with senior leaders, visit a number of facilities and receive briefings on various topics. The Army Materiel Command is the parent command of Picatinny's largest organization, the Armament Research, Development and Engineering Center, or ARDEC.

Above, Stephen Luckowski briefs the general on the valuable lessons learned when ARDEC prototypes and captures manufacturing data. Luckowski is Competency Manager for Materials, Manufacturing and Prototype Technology. McQuistion is seen holding a component from the Excalibur precision guided munition.

During a town hall later in the day, McQuistion said AMC leadership has tried hard to gain a deeper understanding of the research, development and engineering communities, particularly the adverse effects of sequestration. Photo by Todd Mozes.
