FORT BENNING, Ga., (July 23, 2014) --Comic book aficionados, fans of other collectibles and various other pop culture enthusiasts will have an opportunity to come together Aug. 3 for the Columbus Comic Book Show.

The show will be held at the Coca-Cola Space Science Center, which plays host to the event in February and August.

As someone who has attended the event several times, I can say it's a great opportunity for local comic book fans to gather and pick up some merchandise without having to travel to a larger city or convention.

The event is primarily for collectors, as there will be several vendors in attendance to help meet your collecting desire, whether it be comic books, toys, trading cards or other forms of collectible memorabilia.

No gathering of comic book fans would be complete, however, without fans in costume.

Costumers will be well represented at the show, as members of the League of Columbus, a local superhero-themed costuming group, will be in attendance, as well as members of Star Trek fan club USS DaVinci.

If comics or collectibles aren't among your interests, the rest of the Space Science Center will also be open for business that day, giving guests an opportunity to enjoy both the show and the other attractions.

The show will be from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 3. The Coca-Cola Space Science Center is located at 701 Front Avenue, Columbus. Admission is $4. For more information, call 706-649-1477 or email info@ccssc.org.
